Book your visit to Villa Rosebery

The tour will take you through the park, which blends the characteristics of the Mediterranean flora with the naturalness of an English garden and where you may admire a neoclassical temple and enjoy charming views. You will also visit the Palazzina Borbonica building, where historical documents and images are exhibited. Continuing your walk through the park, you will reach the dock and eventually visit the Grande Foresteria (large guest house).

Villa Rosebery covers an area of 66,056 square metres. The downhill path leads to the sea, with a drop of about forty metres. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes.


Opening days

The visit is free-of-charge. It is mandatory to book the visit in advance (cost: € 2.50). Reservations are personal, non-transferrable and can be made as follows:

The entrance is in Via Ferdinando Russo, 26 (Posillipo), Naples. You must be there 15 minutes before the visit starts, with a valid ID.

Should the personal details given for the booking not match those on the ID, access shall be denied. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Animals are not allowed, other than guide dogs for the visually impaired.


Opening hours

Visits last roughly 1.5 hours. Groups of visitors are admitted every thirty minutes, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm (last admission is at 3:00 pm).

How to reach Villa Rosebery

  • from Piazza Garibaldi o from Pozzuoli: take Underground line L2, step off at MERGELLINA station, then take Bus 140 at bus stop in Via G. Bruno, bound for Piazza Salvatore di Giacomo.
  • from the Vomero neighbourhood: take Bus C31 and step off at Manzoni-Petrarca bus stop (roughly 20 minutes on foot) or take the Cable Railway (Funicolare) F1 (from Cimarosa stop) and step off at the Parco-Margherita stop, then it’s a ten-minute walk to Bus 140 (Riviera di Chiaia bus stop); step off at Posillipo-Istituto Cimarosa stop.
